Mudgirl is a event imported from Canada which is venturing into Europe for the first time. It is an female-only obstacle course race, with around 17 obstacles over a 5km course. Some of the obstacles are man made – climbing frames / scaffolding. Some are dug into the ground such as a mud crawl, and others use natural features.
Over 4,000 women took part in the event, held at Kelvedon Hatch in Essex. My obstacle was two trenches which had been cut into the ground, covered with mesh. The quickest way was to float and pull or push yourself through using the mesh. Others preferred to crawl or swim through.
