I was delighted to be involved in this project to have one of my photographs turned into a painting.

After 5 seasons of herding racing drivers around a paddock, Simon Davey, Monoposto Racing Club administrator, decided it was time to pass the baton on to someone else, and the club members wanted to show their appreciation of Simon’s time and work.

It was decided to commission a painting by renowned Norfolk based motorsport artist Andrew Kitson, who produced this wonderful picture of Simon racing his Van Diemen in the wet at La Source corner at Spa-Francorchamps last season.    He worked from a number of my photos as references to produce the painting shown above.

The painting was shown to Monoposto members at their recent AGM and Dinner Dance, and was later presented to Simon Davey during the MSV Media Day at Brands Hatch.   Simon was very touched and the painting now has pride of place on his office wall.

Andrew Kitson tells me the next painting in the queue is for a Mr Lewis Hamilton from Stevenage and Monaco.
