Fifty years ago this year, ‘Gentleman’ Jack Sears won the last running of the original Autosport 3 hour race at Snetterton in a Willmont Cobra Coupe (similar to the Daytona Cobra Coupe).

In the modern era, Chevrons have dominated, but this year that type of car was not included and it was Chris Ward and Alex Buncombe’s Jaguar E-Type (main pic) which took the win, 2 laps ahead of the Denis and Jeremy Welch Austin Healey 3000.

AGMC5041Suzanne Sears, daughter of Jack was racing an MG B (right) and finished 17th.

Other races included HSCC Historic Road Sports, Formula Juniors and Seventies Road Sports.
