2013 Prudential RideLondon 100 photos

I was pleased to be part of the photography team covering the first Prudential RideLondon 100 event – a 100 mile cycle race celebrating the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The event started from QEOP (that is Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park) and headed through City of London, passing Canary Wharf before crossing the Thames at Chiswick and riding through Richmond Park before passing through Weybridge, Horsley, before the climb through Box Hill, Leatherhead, Cobham, Wimbledon and finishing at The Mall in front on Buckingham Palace.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, was one the 15,883 riders taking part, completing the event in 8h 4m and 27s.   Other famous names include rower James Cracknell, Rugby player Matt Dawson, long jumper Jonathan Edwards, chef John Torode, Olympic Hurdler Sally Gunnell and Emmerdale Actors Nichola Wheeler (Nicola King), Rik Makarem (Nikhil) and Jamie Shelton (Robbie)

Considering I was stationed 90 miles in outside the Dog and Fox in Wimbledon, rider 13579 (Jon Alexander) pictured above, looks remarkably fresh, completing the course in 4hrs 27mins and 2 seconds.

I was part of the Marathon-Photos team and any rider looking to purchase an image can do so from them.
