Lovely weather greeted my third trip to Brands Hatch in a month for the MSV F3 Cup meeting on the shorter Indy circuit.

Henry Chart didn’t get his replacement Mugen engine from Brazil in time, so was out in Linton’s car, which hadn’t been touched since mid season last year.     Olly Rae blew his engine in testing.    Matt Payne withdrew before getting there, Gino Ussi is taking a break due to a neck injury and Alice Powell’s Toyota engine blew a head gasket, causing MBR a late night fitting her gear ratios and body panels to Frank Thomas’ chassis (hence the strange mismatch of colours)    Tony Bishop was also sitting out this meeting.

However, Scott Temple was joining the field for the first time in the TOMS chassis previously campaigned by James Ledamun.

Alex Craven took race 1 with Louis Hamilton-Smith and Tristan Cliffe competing the podium.  Alice Powell took race 2 ahead of Craven and Hamilton-Smith with Cliffe finishing 6th after his car’s electrics cut out, coasting into the pits and getting restarted.  Cliffe took fastest laps in both race and won the IWI Watches award for fastest lap.
