Donington Park has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons.   Simon Gillet’s ludicrous attempt to bring F1 to Donington nearly saw the circuit close for good, but thankfully Kevin Wheatcroft has managed to get the circuit repaired and to get racing underway again.   It would have been a shame as Donington is a real drivers circuit, many drivers would include the Craner Curves on their list of top 10 corners in the UK.

Tristan Cliffe won the race in the dry.   The wet race which followed was won by Barry Smith (pictured), his first Monoposto Championship race win, and in conditions he normally detests.   Cliffe won his class, in third place, suffering from a misfire due to water getting where it shouldn’t.
